Serving as the air transportation hub of Shanghai, Pudong International Airport (PVG) is situated on the south-eastern side of the city centre, along Yingbin Road.
A ring road covers the perimeter of Shanghai, making accessing the airport from anywhere in the city really very straightforward.
Directions to Pudong International Airport (PVG) from the north of Shanghai:
- From the Fudan University area, head east until you reach the first roundabout, at which point you take the exit for Huangzin Lu Road
- Follow Huangzin Lu Road until it becomes Zhonguo Lu, which in turn becomes Neihuan Lu
- Continue along Neihuan Lu south until you reach Zhou Pou
- At Zhou Pou, take a left turn and follow sign for the airport
Directions to Pudong International Airport (PVG) from the south of Shanghai:
- Head east towards Nanpu Bridge
- Cross the Nanpu Bridge and follow Neihuan Lu Road
- Continue east along Neihuan Lu then south to Zhou Pou
- At Zhou Pou, take a left when you see the sign for the airport
Directions to Pudong International Airport (PVG) from the east of Shanghai:
- From Yanpu Bridge, head south along Neihuan Lu
- Follow Neihuan Lu south to Zhou Pou
- At Zhou Pou, take a left turn and follow the road to the airport
Directions to Pudong International Airport (PVG) from the west of Shanghai:
- From Westin Taipingyang, head south on the ring road
- Follow the ring road as it goes east towards the Nanpu Bridge
- Cross Nanpu Bridge and join Neihuan Lu
- Follow Neihuan Lu east and then south to Zhou Pou
- At Zhou Pou, take a left at the airport sign
- Follow this road to the airport
The ring road around Shanghai is invariably a smooth ride and free from traffic jams. However, at peak times, the journey to Pudong Airport has the capacity to experience congestion.
